The Lamb Shoppe & Wellness Center has teamed up with Picture My Health for breast, half-body, or full-body screenings with the Digital InfraRed Thermal Imaging (DITI) Medical Camera. Picture My Health is dedicated to providing information about body thermography, breast care, and early detection prevention. Thermography is a safe, non-invasive, 100% radiation-free method of infrared imaging to detect heat patterns and blood flow in the body.

The scans are by body region which includes head, breast/chest, abdomen, lower extremities, upper extremities. All include anterior, posterior, laterals, and some include oblique views. A full-body scan includes all the body regions from head to toe. One or two body regions takes a 30-minute appointment. Three or more regions require a one-hour appointment. Your practitioner/therapist may request a combination of regions for pain or trauma evaluation.

This procedure is safe and has been cleared by the FDA since 1982. Thermography can detect changes in the breast tissue 7-10 years earlier than a mammogram. All images are read by board-certified Medical Doctors. It can be beneficial for both men and women.

For women, it is a valuable procedure for alerting their healthcare practitioner to changes that can indicate early-stage breast disease. DITI detects the subtle physiological changes that accompany breast pathology, whether it is cancer, fibrocystic disease, an infection, or vascular disease. Your practitioner can use the information received to plan and lay out a careful program to further diagnose and/or monitor you during and after any treatment.
