Shoppe Assistant

The Lamb Shoppe & Wellness Center is looking for a dependable, motivated individual who is passionate about real food, holistic wellness, and ongoing learning. Our mission is to empower health and wellness from our farm to our customers, and this role is an important part of that experience.

This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to herbal medicine, natural foods, and holistic wellness while working alongside a knowledgeable and supportive practitioner team. We value team members who are curious, hardworking, and genuinely enjoy helping others.

Position Details:

  • Part-time: 20–30 hours per week

  • Must be available to work 1–2 Saturdays per month

  • Shifts range from 4–9 hours

  • Training begins in May, with regular hours starting in June

  • Opportunities for additional hours through seasonal outdoor work (gardening, harvesting, herbal preparation, etc.)

 

Shoppe Hours:

  • Monday–Friday: 9:00 am – 6:00 pm

  • Saturday: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

 

We are looking for someone who is flexible, willing to step in when needed, and able to support special events and busy seasons. There is strong potential for growth and expanded responsibilities over time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers with purchases and product questions

  • Operate the register and handle transactions

  • Answer phones and help schedule appointments

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the Shoppe & Wellness Center

  • Stock shelves and create appealing displays

  • Assist with class and event setup

 

Desired Skills & Qualities:

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Basic computer proficiency

  • Detail-oriented and organized

  • Interest or experience in health, nutrition, or herbal medicine

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

  • Flexible and dependable

  • Positive, team-oriented attitude

 

A 1–2 year commitment is preferred.

Garden & Grounds Assistant (Part-Time / Seasonal)

We are seeking someone who enjoys working outdoors and finds fulfillment in hands-on, meaningful work connected to the land.

This role supports the care and development of our herbal and vegetable gardens, which are an important part of our farm-to-apothecary approach. The work is steady, physical, and rewarding—ideal for someone who appreciates a peaceful environment and takes pride in maintaining beautiful, productive spaces.

Position Details:

  • Approximately 10–12 hours per week

  • Flexible scheduling

  • Seasonal with potential for ongoing opportunities

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Weeding and general garden maintenance

  • Planting herbs, vegetables, and flowers

  • Harvesting and preparing plant materials

  • Assisting with upkeep of garden beds and outdoor spaces

  • Supporting seasonal projects and garden expansion

 

Ideal Candidate:

  • Enjoys working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions

  • Has a strong work ethic and attention to detail

  • Able to work independently and stay on task

  • Interest or experience in gardening, farming, or plants is a plus

  • Physically capable of bending, lifting, and being active for extended periods

 

This is a peaceful, hands-on role that directly supports the heart of what we do.

Herbal Intern Opportunity

Take your herbal skills to the next level with this hands-on volunteer internship. You’ll gain real-world experience harvesting, creating herbal preparations, and so much more — all while collecting hours toward your herbal goals! This internship is designed with flexibility in mind and can be tailored to your personal interests.

Position Availability

  • Runs March through November

  • Approximately 8–16 hours per month (60–100+ hours total)

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of herbal medicine background

  • Experience making tinctures and oils

Possible Responsibilities
Wildcrafting, harvesting, herbal gardening, making herbal products, weeding, workspace cleanup, bottling, labeling, inventory tracking, researching, mixing teas, photographing plants/products, marketing, writing articles, transplanting, assisting with Home Herbalist Level 1 classes, mentoring Level 1 students during office hours, and more.

We’ll work with your strengths and interests — there’s flexibility to focus on what excites you most.

How It Works
If selected as an Herbal Intern, you’ll work independently and with other interns at the Shoppe/herbal garden on various herbal-related projects. Additionally, we will meet monthly for an educational session. These meetings will include herbal discussions, project planning, up-to-date research, Q&A, and review of herbal podcasts, videos, or lectures. You will also assist with students when they miss a class.

A schedule will be created that works for both you and the Shoppe team. Interns must document hours and keep a record of tasks completed.
