Heidi Schimmel
Massage Therapist
I’m Heidi Schimmel, a licensed massage therapist and proud Hutchinson native. My journey into massage therapy came from a deep desire to help others feel their best—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. After a rewarding career as a textile artist, I followed my heart and earned my massage therapy certification from Northwestern Health Sciences University. I’ve since built my practice in Hutchinson and Cokato, and I’m thrilled to now offer my services at The Lamb Shoppe.

Every massage I give is customized to your unique needs—whether you're looking to relax, release tension, or relieve chronic discomfort. I specialize in deeply relaxing massage combined with targeted trigger point therapy. I incorporate hot stones into every session to melt away stress and enhance muscle relief. I’m also trained in cupping therapy and gua sha for those seeking deeper therapeutic benefits.

My touch is intuitive and respectful—I don’t believe in pushing the body past its limits. Instead, I work with your tissue’s natural resistance, gently encouraging it to release and heal. If you’re looking for a restorative, soothing, and tailored massage experience, I’d love to welcome you into my treatment space at The Lamb Shoppe.
Come experience what true relaxation feels like.

The Techniques:

Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger Point Therapy focuses on relieving specific points of tension within muscles—often called “knots”—that can cause pain and tightness both locally and in other areas of the body. These trigger points are common sources of referred pain, meaning discomfort may show up in a different place than where the issue originates.

By applying sustained, gentle pressure to these areas, Trigger Point Therapy helps release chronic tension—like warm hands slowly melting into a cold stick of butter. This technique is especially beneficial for those dealing with headaches, neck and shoulder pain, low back discomfort, or overall muscle tightness caused by stress, posture, or overuse.

Cupping Therapy
Cupping therapy is an ancient healing technique that uses suction to gently lift the skin and underlying tissue. This process increases blood flow, releases muscle tension, and helps move stagnant energy and toxins out of the body.

Silicone or glass cups are placed on areas of tension, creating a pulling sensation that many describe as deeply relieving. The suction helps break up fascial adhesions, improve lymphatic drainage, and promote faster recovery from soreness or chronic pain.

Cupping is especially helpful for clients with tight shoulders, back pain, or repetitive strain. It can leave temporary marks as part of the body’s natural healing response, but the results often include greater mobility, reduced pain, and a sense of deep relaxation.

Gua Sha
(Graston-Like Technique)
Gua Sha is a traditional healing technique that involves gentle scraping of the skin using a smooth-edged tool to stimulate circulation, release tension, and support the body’s natural healing processes.

Similar in purpose to the Graston technique used in physical therapy, this method targets areas of tight fascia and muscle stiffness. The rhythmic strokes help break up adhesions, reduce inflammation, and encourage better blood and lymph flow.

Gua Sha is especially helpful for chronic tension in the neck, shoulders, and back, as well as for promoting faster recovery from overuse or injury. While it may leave mild redness (called “sha”) as part of the body’s detoxifying response, clients often report significant relief and a deep sense of release.
